Bengkel Komputer - How To Repair System Registry?

This short article describes some useful tips on how to repair system registry problems on your Windows computer. The registry is a central resource in the computer containing important configuration information. It is updated whenever changes are made to the computer, such as when a program is installed or a program is uninstalled. Problems may arise in various situations. Getting a top quality registry cleaner software can help speed up your PC quickly.

Some installers and uninstallers are not perfect and may leave incorrect or redundant entries in the registry. Problems can also sometimes occur when program files are deleted without going through the proper uninstall process, or when programs are uninstalled on a multiple user account system by someone other than the original installer or main user (of that program).

Not all computer system administrators are agreed on the utility of cleaner programs. The issue which some administrators see is that the registry is very much a central part of the operating system (OS), and an improper change can lead to very severe problems, including making the computer unable to boot properly.

This point of view is contradicted by other experts, who note performance improvements after the cleaning process. Nevertheless there seems to be general agreement on two things. Running an incautious cleaning procedure (or a poorly designed cleaner program) has the potential to cause considerable damage.

The first recommendation is therefore to always to backup the registry before starting the cleanup process, and the second recommendation is to treat cleanup as a special maintenance action - one which is only done when there is evidence of a problem - rather than a regular maintenance action such as installing OS upgrades or running a virus checker.

Any good registry cleaner product should perform a backup before making any changes, but it is much safer to also make your own backup. This is not the same as making a backup of your user files, which you should probably be doing regularly anyway - especially if the computer is used for work or holds important data which you cannot afford to lose.

Therefore, in addition to your normal data backups, before using a cleaner, make sure that you create a system restore point (use the Control Panel to do this). The system restore point should allow you to get back to the original registry state if any problems should arise.

After scanning with the cleaner program, you can expect to be given the option to remove any errors which have been found. It is normally best to remove errors at only the safest level - you can always try more aggressive settings later on.

Always carefully examine any indication of risk from the cleaner, and do not proceed unless you are absolutely sure that the entries in question should be removed. Proceeding carefully means that you can make necessary changes and improvements to your system, while having the assurance of recovering to your system restore point if you encounter any critical difficulties. I personally managed to clean up my computer by downloading high quality registry cleaner software and would highly recommend it.
